The largest project in Charleston District history is underway and has gone through many milestones in the last 10 years. The Charleston Harbor Post 45 Deepening Project is the first project to go through the Corps SMART planning process from start to finish, which saved years and millions of dollars. Now, the Entrance Channel is being dredged. Learn more about the history of the Post 45 project and what's coming next in this update.
In 2008, the Charleston District became a "military district" once again by taking over projects at Fort Jackson. The workload and personnel on the ground were small, but now we've executed $1 billion in work to construct, renovate and maintain more than 50 buildings. The work we do at Fort Jackson serves 50% of the incoming soldiers to the Army each year. Learn more about our work at Fort Jackson in the last 10 years in this update.
10 years ago, the only STEM opportunities the District provided were to bring students in once a year for National Engineers Week and show them a PowerPoint presentation. Today, the District participates in about a dozen STEM events each year that are interactive and informative, plus host many students for job shadowing and internships. Learn more about the progress of the District's STEM outreach in this 10 year update.

Since then, the operation has been successful and the operators are now applying for a supplemental permit to expand operations. Learn more about the Haile Gold Mine project over the last 10 years.
One customer the Charleston District has been doing a wide variety of projects for in the last 10 years is Joint Base Charleston.
