The proposed work consists of maintenance dredging within Plantation Harbour-Paradise Basin, an existing artificial canal/basin. The applicant is requesting a ten-year permit. Dredging will be conducted utilizing a hydraulic cutter-head suction dredge to remove approximately 26,000 cubic yards of material from 5.8 acres of tidal waters. The maximum proposed dredge depth is -7.0 feet Mean Lower Water (MLW), with a 1.0-foot allowable overdepth.  Based on accretion rates, the applicant anticipates completing two (2) dredging cycles during the requested 10-year permit.

The dredged material, consisting primarily of silt and sand, will be hydraulically pumped to an onsite CDF – TMS# 130-25-01-197 – located northwest of N. Plantation Harbour Drive. Supernatant water, resulting from the dewatering process within the CDF, will be decanted and discharged via an existing ditch system to an offsite portion of the canal.
