Carole Works joined the Charleston District in January 2007 as chief of the engineering branch after working for 20 years with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Southern Division. As chief of engineering, she provides oversight and execution of all engineering activities for the Charleston District. The engineering division is responsible for the planning, studies and design reports of all engineering services provided by the District.

She has a combined 25 years of engineering experience with USACE and NAVFAC.  While with NAVFAC, Works managed the MILCON budget for all naval facilities in 26 states.  Other positions with NAVFAC included: Liaison Officer, Project Manager, Construction Manager and Structural Engineer.

Works earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering in 1987 from Texas A&M. She is also a project management professional. Her awards include the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service (2012), and Certificate of Appreciation from NAVFAC.
