Scott Glass assumed the duties of Operations Division Chief for the U.S Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District in April 2021after serving as the Navigation Branch Chief for six years.  Glass joined the Charleston team in June 2015 after working for 20 years with Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast.  Before his time with NAVFAC, he worked at the former Charleston Naval Shipyard in the Nuclear Engineering Department after graduating from Clemson University.  In his current position, he is responsible for delivering navigation, hydropower, asset management, geospatial and emergency management solutions to the State of South Carolina and the nation.  As the Navigation Chief, he was responsible for maintaining the harbors and waterways of South Carolina to ensure safe and unhindered passage of commercial, military and recreational vessels. He also served as the District’s liaison to the U.S. Coast Guard, coordinating activities during hurricane preparation and recovery.

Glass has over 26 years of facilities engineering and civil works experience with USACE and NAVFAC. While with NAVFAC, he served as an Environmental Remediation Project Manager, BRAC Environmental Coordinator, Environmental Business Line Team Lead and Deputy Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader, supporting Navy and Marine Corps Installations across the Southeast.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1986. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of South Carolina and is Facilities Engineering Level III Certified.
