The Charleston District recently planted 100 sweetgrass plants at the St. Stephen Powerhouse. The plants are from the Natural Resources Conservation Service's Plant Materials Center in Brooksville, Fl. The District hopes that these plants will grow and bloom and be eligible for harvesting one day. Additionally, the District gave 80 plants to the Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission to be used at Folly Beach County Park and 150 plants to Trident Technical College's Horticulture Department.
