The proposed work consists of constructing three community docking structures within a tidal waterbody, Turkey Creek. In detail, the applicant proposes to construct three (3x) docking structures consisting of: Dock #1 (referred to as “TC DOCK 1” on the plans sheet) will feature a 4' x 243.4’ walkway originating in the uplands and leading to a 24' x 12' covered fixed pierhead, and two (2) 34’ x 4’ floating docks located on the north and south side of the fixed pierhead; Dock #4 (referred to as “TC DOCK 4” on the plans sheet) will feature a 4' x 318.3’ walkway originating in the uplands and leading to a 24' x 12' covered fixed pierhead, and two (2) 34’ x 4’ floating docks located on the northwest and southwest side of the fixed pierhead; Dock #5 (referred to as “TC DOCK 5” on the plans sheet) will feature a 4' x 176.8’ walkway originating in the uplands and leading to a 24' x 12' covered fixed pierhead, and two (2) 34’ x 4’ floating docks located on the north and south side of the fixed pierhead. The applicant offered no compensatory mitigation for impacts associated with the project. Appropriate provisions will be included in the permit to ensure the interests of the Federal Government are understood. The project purpose is to provide private, recreational access to Turkey Creek for the future residents of Turkey Creek Subdivision.
